A83 Rest and Be Thankful Geophysical Investigations

After the recent landslide(s), Christopher Gillies and Dave Calder have been performing geophysical surveys on the slope above the A83 Rest and Be Thankful to investigate the make-up and extent of the superficial deposits and rockhead position.

The subsurface is complex in this area with what appears to be stepped bedrock and localised deep superficials. The results will be used inform the design of new mitigation measures by Jacobs on behalf of BEAR Scotland.
