Radon Gas Risk Assessment
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas and can be hazardous in homes and workplaces when elevated concentrations are encountered. It is thought that the inhalation of radon gas is the second largest cause of lung cancer in the UK, resulting in over 1000 fatal cancers per year.
DAM Geotechnical Services are assessing site-specific risks posed by radon gas. We can assist with an assessment of whether a site lies within a radon affected area and guide you to the most appropriate remedial solution, if necessary.
It is also possible that in-situ monitoring of radon concentrations within buildings can negate the requirement for radon protection measures. If a site has a higher probability of elevated levels of radon gas, or has been proven to during a period of gas monitoring, we can also assist with gas protection solutions and correct product specification.
